Jillian Olson grew up dancing in Broomfield, Colorado. She studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and modern at Danstek, Becky Shaw School of Dance, and at Hannah Kahn Dance Company. During high school, she attended the Jazz Dance World Congress with the Giordano Dance Chicago, the Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop at CU Boulder, and was on her high school poms dance team. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Art History in 2003 from the University of Colorado where she was also a member of the Buff Gold Dance Team. After receiving her degree in dance, Jillian began her teaching career while working at Boulder Body Wear and starting a family. She has taught Creative Movement, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, and Pre-pointe and has been a part of the Mountain Contemporary Dance Arts family since 2017. When not at MCDA, Jillian spends her time with her husband Travis and three kids Alexa, Maia & Luke and is a partner in at Colorado Alternative Wellness in Broomfield.
Kaitlyn McMorran
Kaitlyn McMorran is from Denver Colorado and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from the University of Colorado Boulder. She grew up dancing in both competitive studios and at Denver School of the Arts, training in a variety of dance styles including tap, modern, contemporary, ballet, and jazz.
At CU Boulder, she had the privilege of studying under artists such as Michelle Ellsworth, Erika Randall, Helanius J. Wilkins, and Rennie Harris. Kaitlyn also enjoys working in technical production, which started at CU and continued to grow as she traveled to The Yard, a summer dance festival on Martha’s Vineyard as a technical production intern and then to Walt Disney World under the Disney College Program.
She has stage managed for several artists around the country, including for Helanius J. Wilkins at Dance Place in Washington, D.C., for Olivia Dwyer Dance Projects at Gibney Dance Center in New York City, and was the assistant stage manager for Denver ballet company Wonderbound for two seasons.
Kaitlyn is the director of the dance program at Mountain Contemporary Dance Arts in Louisville. In addition to being the artistic director of Rocky Mountain Rhythm, Colorado’s only non-profit tap dance company, Kaitlyn is a company member with dance companies Industrial Dance Alliance and Boulder Jazz Dance Collective.
